Reflection on CAAP
As my fifth and final year at CAAP comes to a close, I reflect on everything that’s happened to me here. I’ve definitely changed by a large amount. I’ve become pretty skilled in the classes I’ve been taking and I’ve grown as a person in general.
Unlike some others, I never really settled into a defined set of classes; I was never in the musical, I never did a lot of sports, I never wrote that much. Now that I think about it, I’ve never taken multiple classes from the same department in a year. For my final year here, I decided to continue with the classes I took last time; it was nice to just continue what I had already been doing and not challenge myself too much.
When I came to CAAP originally, I was extremely shy. I’m not going to fully credit CAAP for all my growth as a person, but I do believe a space where I’ve been able to be creative without limit has been enormously helpful in a way school hasn’t. Over these years, I’ve become both more sociable and more skilled in the classes I’ve been taking. Ultimately, it’s been nice to have some structure to my summer, because I know I would be sitting around watching TV all day if I didn’t have something like this. I hate that I have to leave right before my last week, but I really hope to return as a CIT so I can give back to the community that’s been so important in my life. ­ Ben Snyder
The Brookline Art Center mural Exhibit opens the day
after festival day! The Brookline art center believes that art is vital. You can go there and look at the amazing art. They have classes, programs,event,workshops,birthday parties,etc.One big part about it is the murals. They have artists Silvia Lopez Chavez and Evelyn Berde to create a community mural on the outside of they Egmont public housing community room.The project is to help bring our community together so go and look at the murals! Opening ceremony is July 28th.

Random Guy: Weird things in Japan

Japan has so many weird attractions, with things such as robots

serving you food and a store serving only canned foods, this is weird things

to do in Japan. Have you ever thought of wanting a friend? Are you lonely

and alone? Well Rent­a­friend is for you! You can choose what gender your

buddy is and how long you want to stay with them. Surprisingly, this is a

common thing to do in Japan, so if you are alone forever try Rent­a­Friend!

Another weird thing in Japan is there toilets. There toilets are full of buttons

and quirks. With a choice of warmed seats, music, and other functions, the

toilets in Japan are way better than the toilets in America. Mr. Kanso is a

store that only sells canned foods. You can find Spam meat and duck liver

paste. The drinks are also canned, including water and lots of soda. If you are

really old, this store is for you. Onsens are public baths. After a long day of

touring Japan, you can go to a Onsen to cool off. Although other people will

probably be there to bathe with you! If striping naked in front of strangers is

for you, try going to a Onsen! The Zauo restaurant is where you can go

fishing, then eat your fish just as soon the chefs cook it. At the Zauo

restaurant you can catch your own meal to eat, then you can ask the chefs to

cook it anyway you want. Grilled, steamed, boiled, juiced, anything you

want! Japan has a lot of attractions and restaurants, most of them are really

weird, but cool at the same time. I hope that this convinced you to go to

Japan, as it is a really fun place.

missed your love, but no need to

cry because I am back!!!

So, we left off where I banged my head-OUCH! The ceilings here are so low! Anyway, I woke up and the side of my head really really hurt. I

obviously could not swim, so I decided to settle down for the night.

Unfortunately, while I had fainted, I had drifted off somewhere unknown. I

had no clue where I was. But I had no choice, because my fin hurt so

much. I found a patch of soft sand, and covered myself with sand. It was

surprisingly comfortable.

When I woke up, my fin still hurt but not as much. I looked down

at it and gasped. (HUUUH!) I knew I could swim, so I decided with sadness

that I would have to go home.

I looked around me. There was nothing in sight besides sand,

sand and more sand. I swam in circles for a while, not exactly sure where I

was or what I should do or which way to go. Suddenly I felt something

behind me. I whirled around, holding back a yelp. I couldn’t believe my

eyes.

Hello, welcome to Sesame Street and also to today’s Noontime Show, the CIT SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the CITs had di erent Sesame Street personas that they put on--they were hilarious! There were lots of di erent acts: improv, an A-Z informational video, rock band, an art slide show, a dance and a capella. All the acts were FANTASTIC! The CITs are so talented in so many di erent ways. It was really funny and well-done. They sure deserve to be appreciated!

Classroom Spies: CIT Day

Hey CAAPers! Today, we did an interview with the CITs Erica and Lev. We asked them 5 questions each. Here

are their answers! The first question we asked was: What is your favorite candy to receive on CIT appreciation

day? Erica’s favorite candy was watermelon Sour Patch Kids. Lev’s favorite candy is carrots. He says that no

one gives out any candy on CIT appreciation day, so he thinks people should give out carrots.The next

question was: do you have a pet? Erica has two dogs: Jasper and Kiera. Lev has two cats: Lucy and Raksha.

After that we asked if they had a middle name. Erica’s middle name is Nicole and Lev’s is Levi Rexrode. Lev

said that his brothers name is Theo Rexrode, so his family jokes around and calls him T­Rex. Next we asked

what their favorite class was. Erica’s favorite class is Rebel Rockers and Lev’s is Theatrical Light and Sound.

We then asked if they preferred being CITs or campers. Erica preferred CIT and Lev chose both. Well, those

were the five questions we asked! If you want us to spy on any classes, leave suggestions in the Classroom

It’s the Recipe column, today I got two things in my folder: “candy” and “yogurt”. So, I’m going to do yogurt first. Here’s the recipe: INGREDIENTS
● half gallon of milk ● half cup of yogurt. ● Whole or 2% milk. ● either Greek or regular yogurt
WHAT YOU NEED ● heavy pot with a lid
DIRECTIONS Heat the milk. Pour the milk into the pot and set over medium to medium-high heat. Warm the milk to right below boiling,Stir the milk gently as it heats to make sure the bottom doesn't scorch and the milk doesn't boil over. Let the milk cool until it is just warm to the touch, 112°F to 115°F. Stir occasionally to prevent a skin from forming. Scoop out about a cup of warm milk with a measuring cup and add the yogurt. Whisk until smooth and the yogurt is dissolved in the milk. Cover the pot with the lid, and wrap towels around the pot. Put it in the oven, let it sit for four hours to overnight. The longer yogurt sits, the thicker and more tart it becomes. If this is your first time making yogurt, start checking it after 4 hours and stop when it reaches a flavor and consistency you like. Avoid jostling or stirring the yogurt until it has fully set. Once the yogurt has set to your liking, remove it from the oven. If you see any watery whey on the surface of the yogurt, you can either drain this off or whisk it back into the yogurt before transferring to containers. Whisking also gives the yogurt a more consistent creamy texture. Transfer the to storage containers, cover, and refrigerate. Homemade yogurt will keep for about 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
