GATE 2021 – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will conduct the GATE 2021 exam. The Application form for GATE will be released in the month of July 2020. All eligible and interested students can apply for the exam. Through GATE 2021 students will get admission into M.E./M.Tech/PhD at the IITs, NITS, IIITs and CFTIs or to recruit them in PSUs, provide fellowship or make them eligible for admission across the border. IIT Bombay will conduct the exam in the first week of February 2021. Students who want to apply for GATE 2021 will be able to fill and submit the application form in online mode only. GATE 2021 – Important Dates

Students who are preparing for the GATE 2021 exam must know the dates of all the events. These dates work as a reminder for aspirants so that they will not miss any event. Check tentative dates for the GATE exam in the following table. We will update official dates after declaration by Conducting Body. Stay tuned with us.

Eligibility Criteria

Students must fulfill all the terms of Eligibility criteria to fill the GATE 2021 Application Form. The Conducting Authorities will release the official notification regarding the GATE 2021 Exam. Application Form

In the Application Form of GATE 2021, you will be asked to enter your personal details. These details include the Student’s Name, Address of the Aspirant, Mother’s Name, Email id, Mobile Number and various other documents. Candidates are requested to enter all details in the application form as per their certificate record. You will need to visit the official website to apply for the GATE 2021 exam. Admit Card will be issued only to those candidates who successfully fill Application Form along with fee payment.

GATE 2021 Admit Card

The Conducting Authorities will release GATE Admit Card in the month of January 2021. It will release on the official website of GATE. You will require an application number and password to download Hall Ticket. No student will be allowed to take entry in the examination hall without the GATE 2021 admit card. It is the most important identity proof for the student. The conducting body will not send Hall Ticket separately to any student via post, mail or any other medium. The aspirant will need to visit the official website to download his/her admit card.

Examination Pattern

IIT Bombay decides the exam pattern of the GATE 2021 exam. Exam pattern will consist of the mode of examination, number of questions that will be asked, section in paper, marking scheme, and more. It will help candidates to know all the important details about the GATE 2021 question paper which will help them to prepare in a better way. Check the exam pattern in the following points.

  • Examination Mode – Online
  • Number of Papers – The exam will be held for 25 subjects
  • Question type – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Integer type
  • Exam Duration – 3 hours
  • Maximum marks – The question paper consists of 100 marks.
  • Number of Questions – The question paper will consist of 65 questions.
  • Marking Scheme  – For MCQs and NATs, various questions will be of 1 or 2 marks. In MCQs of 1 mark, 1/3 marks will be deducted for incorrect answer. For MCQs of 2 marks, 2/3 marks will be deducted for wrong. There will be no negative marking for numerical type questions.

GATE 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus will be released by IIT Bombay. It will consists of the subjects and topics that candidates will have to study to prepare for the exam. Since the GATE 2021 syllabus of each paper is different, the student will have to check according to the discipline that they select. Check it in the following points.

  • Architecture and Planning (AR): Architecture and Design, Construction and Management, Building Materials, Environmental Planning and Design, Building and Structure, etc.
  • Bio-medical Engineering (BM): Engineering Mathematics, Signals and Systems, Electrical Circuits, Measurements and Control Systems, Analog and Digital Electronics, Sensors and Bioinstrumentation, Measurements and Control Systems, Biomechanics, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biomaterials, Medical Imaging Systems.
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC): Engineering Mathematics, Networks, Electronic Devices, Signals and Systems, Digital Circuits, Analog Circuits, etc.
  • Chemical Engineering (CH): Process Calculations and Thermodynamics, Engineering Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics and Mechanical Operations, etc.
  • Petroleum Engineering (PE): Linear Algebra, Petroleum Formation Evaluation, Oil and Gas Well Testing, etc.
  • Civil Engineering (CE): Engineering Mathematics, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, etc.
  • Statistics (ST): Calculus, Probability, Linear Algebra, Inference, Stochastic Processes, Multivariate Analysis, Design of Experiments & Regression Analysis.
  • Instrumentation Engineering (IN): Engineering Mathematics, Signals and Systems, Electrical Circuits, Control Systems, etc.
  • Mathematics (MA): Linear Algebra, Algebra, Complex Analysis, Functional Analysis, Real Analysis, Numerical Analysis, etc.

GATE 2021 Result

The Result for the GATE will be declared in the 3rd week of March 2021. It will be available in online mode only. Students who are going to appear in the exam will require Application Number and Password at the portal to check the GATE result 2021. The Conducting Authorities will not send the results separately to any student via post, mail or any other medium. You will need to visit the official website of GATE to check the result.
